  • As you may already know, my hardworking PA, MJ Emerson, has been dealing with a lot on the home front. Her son has been battling a serious bone infection for over a month now. J is doing much better, but still has a ways to go on his recovery.

At the same time their beloved family dog, Marley, has also been struggling with health issues. Marley needs surgery as soon as possible, and the procedure will cost quite a bit of money. With so much happening to her family all at once, MJ has opened a Go Fund Me account in hopes she can raise the $2,400 needed for Marley’s treatment.

So, here’s what I’d like to do for her. I will send a signed paperback to anyone who contributes $15.00 or more to MJ’s Go Fund Me. Simply email a copy of your donation receipt to info@locklearbooks.com, along with your mailing address, autograph request, and the book of your choice - Exposure, Constellation, or Chaos. Once the donation has been verified, I will send you the book.
I’m happy to include international readers in this offer, but I must request that readers outside of the U.S. cover the cost of shipping the book. Unfortunately, that is not an expense I can cover on top of the book donation.

I’m also working with Christine Stanley to organize an auction to raise funds for MJ. So please keep checking the Squad for more details about that.

You can also help us by spreading the word with your book loving friends and sharing this post all over the place.

MJ works tirelessly behind the scenes to support my writing and to provide the Stargazers with great takeovers and book discussions. Let’s join together now and return the favor in her family’s time of need!

  • Today is Father's Day in the U.S. and Canada so Morgan Locklear is the man I celebrate today.

We've always parented in non-traditional ways. I was the one who pursued a career while he spent more time at home with our son and daughter. He constantly works to make their lives enjoyable and meaningful and I couldn't have asked for a better dad for my children.

Afternoon Delight is the second book in the Charity Case series, and the first series of Piper Rayne’s that I have read. I read the book quickly, over the course of a weekend, and found many aspects of this second-chance romance irresistible.

This is the story of Chelsea, a woman who is rebuilding her life after the end of her impulsive first marriage. Since divorcing her husband five years ago, Chelsea has found professional success working at the RISE Foundation. Despite the heartbreak she’s endured, she’s still looking for her Mr. Right, albeit without much luck. When her boss sends her on a work errand to the tax attorney’s office, she suddenly comes face to face with her past. Dean Bennett has grown up a bit since Chelsea was married to him, and unfortunately for her, he’s also grown more attractive. Despite his matured looks and new career as an attorney, Chelsea is wary of Dean and his sudden reappearance in her life.
As it turns out, Dean’s divorce from Chelsea was the wake-up call he needed to straighten up his act. He’s spent years turning his life around, hoping to become the man Chelsea deserves. And now that he’s ready to win her back, Dean’s pursuit of her is unrelenting. Even while the former couple can quickly fall back into their sexy banter, Dean knows he cannot simply seduce Chelsea in order to win back her heart and her trust. Dean will do anything it takes to show her that a tiger can changes his stripes.

Afternoon Delight is a great continuation of the Charity Case series. I found myself drawn to Dean’s sexual energy, and frankly was cheering for the moment when Chelsea would once again accept Dean back into her heart. At one point, Dean is described as a “briefcake” (a beefcake in a suit), and there really is no better description for him. He’s smart, impulsive, sexy, ambitious, and so very athletic.

If you’re looking for a fast, fun, second-chance romance then I gladly recommend Afternoon Delight to you. I enjoyed the story from the beginning and only found myself investing more of my heart with each turn of the page. I look forward to concluding the series this summer when book thre
